9.*Required* Please submit a photo of your service line (SL):
Instructions: Please make sure your picture follows as many of the following guidelines as possible!
1.) If SL is located in a dark area, use a light to make the material visible
2.) Perform a scratch test as close to where your SL enters your building as possible. Make sure the scratch is visible in the photo (IMPORTANT for suspected lead or galvanized steel lines)
3.) Picture needs to include where line first enters the building and at least a small portion of the line prior to any adapters or elbow fittings.
4.) IF lead or galvanized line is suspected perform a magnet test by placing a magnet as close to the lines first entrance as possible. Include magnet stuck to line in photo if it sticks.
5.) Try to include the water meter in the photo.
6.) Make sure image is clear and above pertinent guidelines are visible.
Pipe Testing Instructions:
1.) Use a key or coin to gently scratch the pipe like you would scratch a lottery ticket
2.) If the pipe is painted, use sandpaper to expose the metal first.
3.) Place the magnet on the pipe to see if it sticks to the pipe.
IF No part of your SL is visible between where it first enters the building and the first elbow, adapter, tee, etc. then verification by this survey will not work. If this is the case, then your SL will have to be verified through another method, and you will be contacted by the Village of Warwick if another form of verification will be taking place at your residence.
(If you need assistance, please contact the Village of Warwick.)
