Dropdown Question Type

A dropdown question allows respondents to choose from a predefined list of answers. A dropdown question is useful in situations where you have a large set of answer choices. SurveyKing offers the ability to search through options within the select element, saving your respondents time.

Example Question

What is your favorite month of the year?

Question Settings

For this question you can choose the following:

  • Require an answer (can not proceed until answered)
  • Add other option with comment box (comment must be entered)
  • Randomize answer choices

Results

A Dropdown Question offers you the ability to create a filter or cross tabulation report on the answers, helping you spot hidden trends. Summary results are displayed in a bar chart and a table showing response counts. When the "Other With Text" option is chosen, a link to the other text answers will be displayed.

On the Excel export, each question and answer will have one single column.
